The solo exhibition "Veer Off Course!" by artist Lee Kyunghoon, who has been delving into his own unique style of art through getting inspiration by personal experiences and keen observation of visual objects, will be held at Gallery Collast from March 23, 2024 to April 06, 2024.
In this exhibition, Lee Kyunghoon departs from conventional ideas about how ‘society’ and ‘time’ interact. Instead, he focuses on the special connection between 'self' and 'time,' providing viewers with moments that allow them to see things differently from a new perspective. In his artworks, everyday objects are placed in an unfamiliar space, distinct from their usual context. This intriguing setup creates visual freshness, compelling viewers to experience dépaysement. Lee Kyunghoon's contradictory screen composition offers visual irony to the audience, raising questions about how to view and perceive the objects within the paintings.
This exhibition hopes to offer a time for visitors to step out of the circuit of daily life, slowly observe and reflect on the moments that have passed at their own pace, and think about how to live in the present.

2024년 03월 23일부터 04월 06 까지 열립니다.
이번 전시에서 작가는 ‘사회’와 ‘시간’의 관계망 속에서 형성되는 규정적인 관계의 경계선으로부터 벗어나 ‘나’와 ‘시간’의 고유한 관계에 주목하며, 감상자들에게 또 다른 시각이 열릴 수 있는 순간을 제공합니다. 작가의 작품 속에서는 다양한 사물과 장소가 하나의 화면 안에서 연출되어, 일상적인 사물이 그의 쓰임새와는 다른 익숙하지 않은 공간 속에 배치됨으로써 시각적인 신선함을 일으키고, 이는 마치 데페이즈망(dépaysement)을 경험하듯 합니다. 이경훈 작가의 모순된 화면 구성은 관람객에게 시각적 아이러니를 선사하며, 그림 속 사물을 어떻게 바라보고 통찰할 것인지에 대한 질문을 던집니다.
이번 전시에서 관람객도 일상의 회로를 이탈하여 자신만의 시간 속도로 지나쳐온 순간들을 천천히 관찰하고 되돌아 보며 현재를 어떻게 살아갈 것인가에 대해 생각을 할 수 있는 시간이 되기를 바랍니다.
